What a great place the humane society is... One of the front desk ladies that works in my complex saw me with lola the other day and she started to tell me that someone gave her a little dog but she did not know the breed nor the age. She proceeded to tell me that she wanted to get her fixed but could not afford it. I offered to take it for her to the humane society to get her spayed. Well, since the health history was unknown, the clinic needed to do the rabies shot and heartworn test before surgery. Since I know this lady cannot afford anything more than 100.00, I paid for the rest of the bill which was a total of 226.00. The great thing is that the dog not only got spayed, but also received all of her vaccines for the year. I was shocked at the small amount the society charged in comparison to a regular vet. Her dog ended up being a mini doberman pincher about 5 years old. She is a pretty sweet girl and I am so glad that I was able to help her.
These are the people that really benefit from places like the humane society and this is why it is so important to donate when possible.
