We got Chip at 7.5 weeks old and he was very sick and we almost lost him. I also think he is EXTREMELY attached and dependent on my husband and I because I don't think he was given enough time to be properly weaned from his mother. I am certain he came from a puppy mill. We got Smokey as a rescue at 6 months old so I don't know if the age he was sold has anything to do with the way he is or not.
