I stopped drinking not long after. Common sense never told me that drinking would be a bad idea and a few months after my diagnosis I went out for a friend's bday and had a good time. I didn't drink enough to get my drunk but I drank enough to where there was something noticeably wrong. People had to get me out of the bar and then when I went to the doctor after that he told me to limit the drinking. Limiting it, in my mind, meant no alcohol at all. I am absolutely terrified of drinking the stuff now. Probably a good thing

Another problem I had for a while was driving. I would drive and not notice the simplest symptoms right away and would keep going until I had no choice but to pull over. I was found by cops a couple times either because they saw a car with their lights on in a parking lot somewhere at night, or they pulled me over. Now my car is stocked with crackers, juice, glucose gel and glucose tablets. I bought one of those organizers you can put on the back of the front passenger seat, but instead of books that's where I put the crackers, glucose supplies, etc. And now I make sure to check my sugar before every single time I drive. And if I notice the slightest symptom, I pull over where I can. Luckily, that hasn't happened in a LONG time!
