Maybe a trip to Vancouver?! LOL! Maybe a travel themed party! With different areas decorated to represent different destinations. For example, your den could be Vancouver, your dining room could be Korea, your backyard could be Maui. Then you could serve different courses for dinner or have appetizers from around the world...
Another abstract idea but a friend of mine just got her husband a guitar for his birthday and he LOVES it. He had never thought about getting a real one (he loves Guitar Hero). She said that now maybe he could learn to play some real music! Go abstract on the gift and it may be something that he didn't even know he wanted or needed.
