We have been thinking of switching our cable/internet/telephone to a different provider, and my roommates are considering dumping the telephone altogether. Personally I like it for long-distance calls. It's cheaper than the cell and I have friends who live in other provinces that I can talk to for over an hour at a time. Right now we have free long distance on our landline so it works really well. But if we get rid of the landline I'd be really worried about my cell always dying! Also in some parts of my house for some reason I get terrible reception. I can be sitting in one spot and go from 4 bars of service to being disconnected completely, without even moving!
