I don't know anything about the first food but Royal Canin has made several Yorkies very itchy. All foods have the potential to do this but RC is particularly bad. If a dog is on it and doing fine, that is one thing, but to start a dog on it, I wouldn't want to take the chance. Ellie had to have a steroid injection after eating Royal Canin LS 14. Their prescription diets are the only ones I'd consider.
