We didnt have a landline here at my new apartment until a few months ago. We thought it'd be in handy if we were to ever have to call 911 and not be able to give our address...with a landline, the address would show up automatically, with a cell phone, it gives the a possible area of where you're calling from, at least that's how it works from here...it gives the nearest tower from where you're calling.
Plus it comes in handy when I lose my cell phone and have to use the landline to call it and follow the ring
