I have four yorkies and they have been around my cat and three litters of foster kittens and have done perfect! They took care of them just as a mommy would (my boys did too!) The only concern I have on your situation is that you have a stray mommy with babies, she may be very protective of her babies with the dog and might attack thinking that your dog was going to hurt her babies.

After coming home from work the other day my husband tells me to come over to this little building in our back yard and to my surprise there is a mommy cat with three little kittens. We've got our dog Buddy in the house who makes the occiasional trip outside in our fenced yard to use the potty and luckily he hasn't noticed these little guys cause they are on the other side of the house. I felt bad for the mommy cat so I went and bought her some cat food and brought her some milk to the building and she and her kittens have been eating like they are starved. It breaks my heart. Anyway, my question is has anyone ever introduced their yorkies (mine is a year and 3 months) to a kitten and the situation gone smoothly? We'd like to keep the kittens but I'd like for them to get along with my dog. Do you think since they are so small they would get used to Buddy? I'm having my doubts because Buddy doesnt like cats or any other animal (birds mostly - he doesnt mind other dogs) coming into HIS yard. Anyway I was just wondering if its possible for a dog and a cat to live in the same house? Thanks for the time.
