Get some lightweight grooming bands and start with just getting her used to having her head brushed and wearing a topknot with a little band only. If you put her up on something like a washing machine or countertop if you don't have a grooming table, she will be much more cooperative. After you've put her little topknot in, give her a kong or a chew toy to distract her so she is too busy to try to get the topknot out.
After she has learned to tolerate her hair in bands, it's time to add a little bow. I always recommend that my customers use bands instead of barrettes because of the choking hazard. |
