Our neighbors didn't neuter their Sheltie until he developed prostrate problems and was dripping pee all over their house. It was a mess. Another thing you have to be very careful with, is that when there is a female in heat anywhere near you, he will go crazy, so to speak. He'll want to get out the door any chance he gets and find the female. Scary.
