I didn't read every post, so this may have been mentioned already. The Hotel Monaco (formally the Holiday Inn) is in Old Town Alexandria and is very pet friendly. They even have a doggie happy hour every Tuesday and Thursday night - it's wonderful and a lot of fun! Always a bunch of Yorkies there! The rooms have a special dog bed and dishes. It's right in the heart of old town and would allow people to walk most everywhere (restaurants, shopping, waterfront) - it's also near a metro stop. If you flew into National, you wouldn't even need to rent a car. |
