I would start out by telling them how much they mean to you. I'd say we are having a little problem and you don't want it to interfer with your friendship, but ......then explain the situation. Ask them if they have any suggestions on how to solve this, and then offer any suggestions you have. I'm sure is you talk to them in a loving kind of way you will be able to work this out without any hard feelings. Lots of good wishes.
