Conner is having his LP surgery today, so I know how you feel. They told me not to give him anything to eat after 6 p.m., and I wanted to feed him, just so he wouldn't have the surgery. But I didn't because my husband would have killed me. We know he needs the surgery and will be better for it.
Conner was supposed to have this surgery performed in January, but his pre-op blood work showed a liver problem, and the vet would not do the surgery because of this. It was probably a fluke thing (or maybe caused by the frontline he had a few days before surgery). He is having pre-op bloodwork again this time because the vet wants to make sure everything is a go before going into surgery. I would highly recommend the pre-op bloodwork. I don't know what would have happened to Conner had he not had it in January.
