We have laminate flooring in our new house (with tile in the bathrooms and utility room). I would have rather had hardwood but the price was a deciding factor. I will NEVER have carpet again. People thought we were nuts to not at least put carpet in our bedrooms but all I could think about was when we recarpeted our old house after a water heater flood..... GROSS!!! is all I can say. I would have rather not put carpet back down in that house but it was cheaper and we were about to sell it anyway. I use the Shark on my laminate floors several times a week since we live out in the country and lots of junk gets tracked in but at least I can see the dirt and know that it's coming up. SO much nastiness gets hidden in carpet.
