I was hoping you would post on the sick and injured forum, people on that forum tend to know more about medical emergencies. I do not think you are over reacting at all. This dog requires attention. Trust your instincts and get your dog to the vet as soon as possible. I'm just surprised with two fractures you vet didn't want to see him imediately. Good luck.

Here's the post on another thread for those who might have more help.

When he fell to the floor he yelped & howled like I have never heard him do before. I took him to the our vet ($200) for xrays (2 fractures), medicine, office visit & (because the doctor wasn't sure about the xray, she had to sent it out to a specialist $77). I called the specialist and it's $140 just for the office visit so I can imagine what the surgery will cost! Although the vet did give me a copy of the xray's, I'm sure I will not be able to afford the surgery. But I can't stand to see him hopping around on 3 legs, although he still is very active. Do you think he will heal properly? Should his leg be wrapped in a splint or something? Please help, I am so worried.
