National Airport is a just a couple miles from Alexandria - Dulles International Airport is 20+ miles away. Driving along the Potomac River on the George Washington Parkway is scenic and not as nerve wracking as coming around 495.
Can't take dogs on Metro (subway). Alexandria is very dog friendly. It should be fun. There is a party cruiser that docks at Alexandria that I've seen take evening dinner cruises along the Potomac River. |
