We ripped up our carpet about 5 years ago, and I have to tell you that the floor underneath was much nicer than the carpet!!! We put in hardwood throughout the house (except for kitchen, bathrooms and foyer, which are tile). We love it. It is so easy to clean. Roomba goes through the house, then I just take my mop (by Bruce) and my Bruce hardwood cleaner and they look brand new.
When Conner was a puppy, he did pee on them a few times, but did no damage. Wood floors are very forgiving, unlike carpet.
