you guys are very helpful this is my situation and my set up right now, maybe you can get a clearer picture. YES I did build them a house.. it is in my back yard, it is 12ft high 8foot by 10foot. It is under the trees for shade so I won't have to use A/C also I sound proof it. I put in two fans that take all the amonica and smell out like that in your rest room and a fan that brings in fresh air. In their house I build a 3 level kennel that is 3.5 feet wide and 7 feet long. It has trays underneath to collect urine and poops so they don't step on it. They have their own bed. Originally since I only have 3 yorkies I wanted to put one on each level but they miss each other so I put all 3 in the middle level. I put their bed on that middle level. They stay there when i'm at work. When i'm home they are in the yard playing as I clean their quarter and put in new food and water. They play with my husky, cus I keep the husky out side as they need room to run around. When they play with the husky they don't bark. The only time my yorkie back is when they are in their house and hear me coming out of my house when I open the sliding door. I love yorkies cus hey don't bark... all my neighbor have dogs of their own. I fortified my wooden fence with wire mesh so my husky can't get out. All of the poop goes in the trash... the pooor trash man.....
