Once a dog has peed on something it will return to this same spot, this is one of the reasons it's fairly easy to pee-pad train small dogs. If the dog pees on a spot where you don't want them to return, you must use an enzyme cleaner such as Natures Miracle or any of the others sold at pet stores. These enzyme cleaners contain special bacteria, that actually eat the protein left in urine, and this protein causes the smell to which the animal is attracted. Other cleaners will mask the smell to your nose, but not to their nose. Spray the article and let dry naturally because it takes time for these enzymes to do their work.
