www.thepetwhisperer.com, doesn't think it is necessary as a matter of course and feels that, if possible, all dogs are better off if left with all their "PARTS". He does agree that neutering is necessary if you cannot prevent unwnted pregnancies or a male dog is "marking" so badly that he is impossible to live with. I have seen even neutered males who mark so neutering is not an absolute cure for this behavior nd bellybands will usually take care of this nuisance. I would talk to a homepathic vet just for a second opinion before making the final decision for your guy.
