My babies go without a collar and harness when they are at home. They only wear them when we go out of the house. The rings that attach the tags to the collar can get caught on their teeth, as can the collar if it is not a perfect fit. Dangerous IMO to leave collars on unattended. I would be more comfortable leaving a harness with ID on unattended.
