I'm not a fan of using a human shampoo on dogs, their skin and hair has a different Ph than human skin, and even gentle products can be harsh on their hair.

The ph is very important. People are 5.5 ph which is much more acidic than dogs which are 7.0. Using shampoo that's less than 7.0, which is alkaline, can cause the hair to dry out and look fried over a period of time. Jon-An's Yorkshire Terrier (Shampoo and Conditioner)
I've been told that this is not as important with conditioners, but I still use one made for dogs, although some people do human hair conditioners, and report no ill effects.
