It's possible that neutering will help although it's also possible that he has already developed the habit of marking and will not stop. Either way, I think it's your and his best interest to have him neutered. You will have a much more well behaved, less aggressive, happier pet. Unaltered males who breed only get worse. Just my opinion.
Good luck though! I know what a tough time this is.. Some days I could give Franklin away and not think twice about.
