It breaks my heart every time I see a boat go by a flooded house with dogs or cats on the porches. But, having worked in shelters i the past, unfortunately I understand why it must be done. The animals are as stressed as the humans and their behavior can change in a second. they do not intend to be vicious but behave because they feel so threatened. Also, when food is an issue, humans must be fed first..Animals can transmit diseases also.
Would I leave my babies behind? No, I would have taken them and any other living creature and beat feet out of town.
Noah's Wish is a rescue group that is working really hard to rescue any and all animals no matter the species. Pray for all of those in need in this sad and terrible time. |
