On of mine that held it up before the surgery did hold it up for a bit after the surgery too like 3 or 4 days then I saw improvement..
My vet also said for some it could be habit and to take them on very slow leash walks to try and get them to walk and put pressure on it... when they move fast I notice it goes right up...
Maisy seemed a little swollen a couple days after the surgery and I was afraid she had hurt herself...but when I took her to the vet she was fine and right on track...however she put her leg down fairly quick...
Toby (who I have now) his area does look alittle swollen... he has staples where Maisy had glue... different vets...
Did they give you any pain meds?
I have fostered 5 dogs that have had this surgery 3 walked on it right away and two (including the one I have no) did not walk on it right away..and took about a week to see them walking..
Toby my current foster is scheduled to have his second one done in 12 days...so we will see...they are suppose to have a failry quick recovery time
I know your frustration because with this surgery they are suppose to be using the leg to build up muscle mass...
