She sleeps in her crate, which is in her ex-pen. I just put that in there because she likes her crate, and would go in it during the day on her own. So once I got the ex-pen, I thought she might like to go in her crate at times when I had to leave her in the pen.
The houses are adorable, but they will not do for crate training. If you are going to crate train, you need a crate, whether it is metal or plastic. The house could certainly go in the ex-pen as a place to lie down when he/she feels like it. Or, the house could be used wherever you will keep your puppy - whether you confine it to the kitchen, or give it free run of the house - as a place to rest for naps.
