Majors can be very difficult to obtain in areas where there are few breeders who show...and to get a major you must beat a larger number of dog/bitches...and in AKC you are competing against many of the foundation names..breeders who have shown for 30, 40 years...they got it down to a science and make few mistakes.
The worlds best Yorkies compete in AKC..so you have them to beat..plus, the best handlers from all over the globe show AKC..so you have them to beat..as a rule they are at larger and Specialty shows, but handlers are at most all shows..and they show for a living, so they are good at what they do..it many sound impossible for a novice, but I see lots of nice dogs finished by newbies...you have to work harder...as with any sport, right? |
YES I AGREE
that akc is harder but in ukc to get a grand champion you must show under
5 different judges and compete against at least 3 yorkies that are champions sometimes easier said than done
