Just got off the phone with the vet. She said 1/2 a tablet of regular Benadryl should be ok for a 10 lb. Yorkie (how much does Pixie weigh?). Give it to them approximately 30-45 mins. before you have to put them in their carrier.
You're not supposed to let them eat up to 6 hours before your flight or drink up to 2 hours before the flight (I don't know how accurate this is though).
Also, do most airlines require a certificate of health for your pet? I'm flying American Airlines and their website specifies that they do NOT require one (I hope this is the case, I'm not getting one and I would hate for them to notify me that I do once I'm already at the terminal). I am taking a record of his vaccinations and whatnot though.
