Vaccines at five weeks are a waste of time and money, not to mention an unnecessary risk. The puppies still have maternal antibodies for the diseases they vaccinate against which attack and kill the virus in the vaccine.

Vaccination Options/Prevention

Puppies should not get their first vaccine until they are at least nine weeks old. Here is Dr. Dodd's suggested vaccine protocol which has been adopted by twenty-seven vet schools.
