I also, take it out every night. You can use a band to put it on tighter to hold the hair up, then either use a bow with a barrette or bow with a band and slip it over or through the hair. When it comes time to remove, slip the bow off and carefully snip the band (be sure not to snip any hair). This helps avoid any pulling of the hair.
I usually massage Katy's head a little too. I know I get that wierd itchy feeling in my head when I take my hair down after my it has been up for a while.
