I personally wouldn't recommend it as I do not use human products on my babies. My Tatum has VERY bad allergies and I know that using human products on her would only upset her skin more.
I HIGHLY recommend Buddy Splash to use as a detangler. Luckily my babies don't ever tangle or mat BUT I used it on them all the time when they were puppies (that super thick puppy hair tangles very easily - especially when they wear clothes) and it works like a DREAM, smells great and is all natural
