Paris does that too, when i was living with my mom, in her apartments, my cousin, who stayed at home while we all worked said that Paris could "sense" my car approaching from anywhere in the house and run to the window and wait for me to get home (its was so heart warming to see her in the window right as i was parking my car)
Now that i'm in my own apartment, i live on the third floor in a corner of the building. And when i drive up from the opposite side of the building, i can see Paris in the patio window pacing. And i know she hears me because she'll stop all of sudden and look towards my direction. If i'm far enough i can see all of this, but after i get pass the middle of the building its hard to see the bottom of my patio door. so i like to stop my car to wear i can see her, because it just continues to prove how much love she has for me and as soon as i beep the alarm after i park and i look up and she dashes out of the window and waits at the door. Geez, the little things our dogs do that makes us melt.
