I put the top knot up in the morning and take it down before we go to bed. I used to leave it through the night but noticed too much hair breakage...plus I don't think it hurts to give their little heads & hair a rest through the night. And no one sees them with their bed heads
If you choose to leave one in all the time, I'd just be sure to redo it at least once a day
