Maxwell took off to parts unknown:eek: Yesterday, my husband came home to see the backdoor open 6 inches and Maxwell was NOT in the house. I was in town having girls nite dinner out. My cellphone was dead so I was charging it in the car. I was blissfully ignorant of the fact Maxwell had taken off. The neighbors were all searching and calling for him. After our meal, I got in the car and saw I had four messages, and then immediately the phone rang. A woman said, with a lovely french accent - "I left you messages, I have your leeetle doggie, he is very cute, but I have cats and you must come get him." Well I was flabbergasted. Maxwell had travelled well over a mile away to her neighborhood and she picked him up. Within 10 minutes of her call, he was safe with me in the car, in his carrier. I rolled up to a frantic neighborhood kids and my husband looking ill searching the woods. But, I said "I have a leeeetle doggie here!" He was so happy -- he had to go take Tums. Maxwell managed to avoid cars and big dogs and I am very, very, very thankful.
My husband learned that doors don't shut themselves. |
