I have hesitated in formulating any sort of response because these types of threads, to my mind, always seem to go nowhere. After reading and re-reading the letter written by the "American Sporting Dog Alliance", I find it SO
filled with propaganda, that I don't even find it worth my time to respond, point-by-point.
I am disappointed that something so mis-representative of the truth is believed by so many.
I guess vivisection, animal crash testing, cosmetic testing, unnecessary medical testing, fur farms, etcetera is not important to some of you then?
[BTW, how PETA feels about pets:
About PETA >> FAQs >> Companion Animals
[BTW, 9,600,000 pets are euthanized every year....and mostly by Humane Assn's. Humane assn's get tier 1, 2, and 3 animals (3 being those who are euthanized immediately) - hence, their 64% rate of euthanasia.
PETA gets almost exclusively tier 3 animals - hence, their higher euthanasia rate. It's really that simple. (tier 3 animals, btw, are those who are critically injured, critically ill, and/or violent toward humans and not able to rehabilitate)]
