Just to warn you that the regulations are very strictly enforced.

Even though we now have a "Pets Passport" scheme that, theoretically, allows dogs to leave the UK to accompany their owners on holiday to other European countries I know of lots of cases where this has led to real problems just getting the dog back into the UK. It's usually been because of the paperwork regarding the tick treatment. Either the treatment was given an hour or so outside the tiny window of allowance, before the dog travelled back home, or the paperwork was signed by a vet not on the authorised list.
And even though it says you can apply for early release from quarantine, I've never heard of a case where this has been granted, it's always been the full six months. And that's for dogs who were born & live here!

Although most pet owners were delighted when the scheme was introduced, looking forward to their pet being able to accompany them on holiday to France etc, there have been so many pitfalls that most owners don't go abroad with their pets.....just isn't worth being without them for the next six months!
Believe me, these days officialdom is rarely on your side in this country.

xx
