he's probably holding out until you put wet food in his dish. Personally I would stop giving wet all together if you want him to eventually eat only dry. He will eat when hungry. Since he's a pup you can leave the food out all day until he eats it. if he was a little older i'd suggest scheduled feedings but he needs the opportunity to be able to eat when he wants.
