Sounds like low blood sugar. Give him some Nutri-cal or Nutri-drops if you have it. If not, use karo syrup. You shouldn't try to just let him sleep it off. If you don't know how to deal with this, call your vet. You can usually treat them and they come around, but they can go downhill fast.
