My yorkie is 11 months old and is used to having the freedom to roam the apartment with free access to his food and water all day. I only allowed this b/c I go to class in the morning and then straight to work and don't get home until evening, and I felt bad for confining him for a long period of time.
I'm now looking into getting him a crate, but I don't know if I'm supposed to leave him food and water in the crate all day?? Sometimes he may be alone for as long as 10 or 12 hours a day. I don't like it, but I no longer have a roommate and don't have another option. Is this too long? Especially depending on whether he gets to keep his food and water with him?
