I wish people would stop grouping PETA and the Humane Society together, and the only groups that seem to do this are groups associated with the NRA. PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk believes all dogs should be put down, and there should be absolutely no breeding and pet ownership. These are her words, not something I read about her. The Humane Society believes in responsible breeding, and they try to find homes for dogs, instead of euthanasia, and believe it's acceptable for people to have pets.
I'm not sure of The Sporting Dog's agenda, but they hated Oprah's puppy mill expose, are against spay and neuter bills, and seem to be more involved with guns and hunting.
