Basic obedience would be great for her at this stage. 'Leave it', 'Down', and 'Stay' would make a situation like this easy to manage. Once she understands the basics she'll be much more manageable.
Don't beat yourself up for mistakes, feeling bad won't help....doing better will.
Any dog will respond better if he's working out of respect for the pack leader than out of fear for his master. Good Luck
