Unhappy Mylie had another surgery today

So i brought Mylie into work today to do post-op x-rays on her elbows and to x-ray her stifles because she had been holding the left one up a lot. The elbows look good. One isn't completely healed and may never be (can also rebreak in the future) but it isn't bothering her at all and she's using it just fine. When i took rads of her stifles i found out that her left tibia is way curved and totally not normal. This is probably from an earlier fracture, probably when she broke the elbows or even before that. It could also be from having really mushy bones because she was malnurished. Her patella was also totally out of groove. You could manually luxate it by hand. Grade 3. So today, being only 5 months old, Mylie went in for her third surgery. We fixed her patella and checked out the curved tibia. Nothing could be done for the tibia but at least we fixed the patella.

She's staying the night at the hospital on a nice morphine/dextrose/other seds and pain killers drip. her leg is bandaged up and she's snuggled in a bunch of blankets with a heating pad.

Tomorrow morning the bandage will come off and rehab begins with a nice walk outside bright an early. i have a feeling she'll do just fine, considering how she was with the elbows

Unfortunately in another month or so she'll have to be put under again for her spay. Plus she also has other possible future surgeries to look forward too. ...i can never leave my job... LOL
