I just bought a 4 month old girl. My very responsible show breeder would not let us have her until 4 months and we had to sign a paper and have her altered. It is very hard to get a female that represents the breed well. We looked for a very very long time. We do not show and we will not breed of course. We just wanted a very good representative of the breed from someone who was working very hard to protect the breed. We are a 5 Yorkie extended family owners. It is extremely important to control the breed especially for health reasons. One of ours likely will under go a name change to "Mercedes" as we pay off $10,000. (total in his life) vet bills for liver issues.
We just love the breed and certainly have more respect for the quality breeders and we will always save money and go there when we buy again.
