Well, you can assume that is the reason why , but you never know if that was really the case or not unless you get to know the breeder. I would be suspect to that it was the case, but it doesn't neccessarily mean it was.
Of course, everyone has their preference and if people are more confident in AKC and what it stands for than any other registry, then why would they consider buying anything but?

I agree with you, unfortunately these issues are happening so frequently, that s'n before leaving the home seems like the ONLY sure way to protect your dogs.
