coco eats it in one position so i never had problem with it getting all over the floor. he has a looooong tongue so he can get everything out.
i usually put his kong on his blankie.
if i put "dry" treats in it, he knows to bang it on the floor to get the treats out, so they pop out all over the floor, but he finds them and eats all of them so no mess there either.
