yeah, I know that - but what i'm concerned about is that I buy the tuner box and then the tv goes out and I have to buy a new TV - because from the research I have done, the newer tvs, even without cable, etc. don't need the box

they worst thing is I have a little B & W that I mainly have on when cooking, etc - just to listen to - and I hate to buy a box for it.
I guess I need to find out if you will even be able to hear anything on the tv without the box - or if there will be absolutely no signal -
I also have a handle held little tv that I have only had for about 3 yrs - I love it. I hate that this thing that I spend $200 on will no longer work too
