My daughter was badly bitten by sand fleas when we went to Vero Beach last year. She was out at night though, during the day we did not have a problem. She was covered in bites and of course she scratched the entire trip back home and they got infected. Our fur kids were with us and they did not get bitten. I really can't tell you if sand fleas affect dogs.
