It's not a dye...if it were a dye you'd have to mix chemicals together to activate it. It is a color enhancer. You can read all about it on

It won't change their color dramatically but mayb enhance their natural color to make it look deeper and shinier. There weren't any major changes in color with my two..their gold is already pretty dark though. I did notice some difference with the black on black. Lacy has a lot of running gold and it helped minimize that, and it did make Rylie's blue look a little darker....just subtle changes.
