I don't think there's any question that the media has a "template" and any story they tell has to fit the template. Once the story is picked up it will only be reported in one "action line," for the story to get attention it must move in the direction they want to report.

I think the fact that they reported secret troop movements says everything. Someone knew when they leaked the information that the media would endanger our troops to meet their own objectives.

I think this is the main reason that as consumers we're leaving the newspapers and nightly news in droves. Their readership and viewership has been in a steady decline for several years.
