No one has a problem with a difference of opinions. If Wendy Diamond does not wish to dress her dogs, that it fine...but she should not tell those of us who do wish to dress our dogs that we are wrong. However, she DOES dress her dog..which makes her a hypocrit...which is even worse in my eyes. She needs to know that her comments were not acceptable and were disrespectful to those who enjoy dressing their dogs.

So far as moderators having their own opinions, that's completely fine and understandable as well. However, an off-topic post was made in this thread assuming that those of us who are passionate about this topic could be doing "better things" with our time, such as helping to stop puppymills. Members CAN be passionate about different interests, and it is wrong to assume things.

I would LOVE to move on past having to defend ourselves against an assumption and get back to the original topic...it just seems a little unfair to have a thread closed because one person chose to take this thread off-topic by an unfair assumption. I just think it is sad that not only do we have to defend ourselves for dressing our dogs to Wendy Diamond...but now we have to defend and explain the way we spend our time as well?

If anyone is reading this thread and was not offended by Wendy Diamond, that's perfectly fine...just ignore this thread. But if you were offended by the comments that Wendy Diamond made, feel free to write to her magazine and let her know..as well as post on the CBS message board.
